In late January and early February 2025, artists Angela Harrison and Sara Bor spent two weeks in residence at Brisons Veor, Cape Cornwall. Having previously collaborated on an earlier virtual walking project , they welcomed the opportunity to walk side by side once more—this time immersed in the dramatic and unfamiliar landscape of West Penwith.

Perched on the cliffs above Priest Cove and the vast Atlantic, Brisons Veor offered a striking and elemental setting for their exploration. The artists worked and walked within a landscape shaped by both nature and history: coastal paths tracing the edge of the sea, remnants of Cornwall’s industrial mining past, and traces of far older civilisations in stone circles and ancient burial sites.

The residency unfolded against the powerful backdrop of Atlantic weather. During their stay, they experienced the full force of Storm Éowyn, with crashing waves, relentless winds, and even a power cut—moments that heightened their sense of exposure to the landscape’s raw energy. In contrast, there were clear, sunlit days when shifting shadows revealed hidden historical paths and industrial traces, while the Atlantic sparkled beyond. Through daily walks and shared observation, Harrison and Bor became deeply attuned to this environment. The terrain, sounds, and atmosphere seeped into their thoughts—and even their dreams—shaping both their time at Brisons Veor and the work that followed. This exhibition presents the outcomes of that residency, alongside further work developed afterwards in their respective studios in Devon and Brighton—continuing a dialogue with the landscape that first took hold on the cliffs of Cape Cornwall, at the edge of the Atlantic.
