Statement
Hils’ work includes artwork, printmaking, artist books, bookbinding, mindmaps and installation.
Rooted in observation – responding to emotions, weather, shadows, fleeting moments and shifting landscape, underpinned by a fascination with psychology and perception.
Journalling, mindful drawing and play is a core part of her artistic practice, using abstract photography and video to record process and capture accidentals.
A recent collaboration with writer, Kate Reeve-Edwards, in response to an installation at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens, helped define her work process:
