New Work
My work has always been about exploring where beauty lies and has had many manifestations in my art career.
The current iteration is a progression of work I made in the late 90’s . I photographed torsos in sections and joined them together with a piece of drawing or painting inspired by artists I have long admired, Agnes Martin , Robert Ryman and Brice Marden .
The current work has been enabled by printing the photographs on one surface (not collaged together} as in the earlier work. This has led to an expansion of the relationship between the concrete drawing and the abstract photography with the choice of tracing paper adding a literal quality to the ephemeral nature of the work and allowing the possibility of a partially hidden layer to affect the surface layer.
