‘While I was Still’ is a new body of work by NSA artist Charlotte Turner, created during a period when travel was not possible. Rooted in memory and longing, these dreamlike coastal landscapes explore how stillness and solitude can become places of calm and quiet transformation.
Working slowly, Charlotte builds her paintings through soft layers of colour and light- each one a gentle act of remembering.
The imagined horizons and tidal forms reflect her deep connection to the sea, and the comfort found in painting the places she could only dream of visiting.
