Most paintings have a similar construction: a symmetrical layout and a central rectangle differentiated from the surrounding colour field by a slight change in tone or hue which establishes a colouristic expansiveness. My concerns over recent years have been with devising peripheral optical effects and a virtual colour presence through contrast and the ordering of interval. Each painting has its own colour harmonies which carry an affective particularity.
