Statement:
"I work directly from landscape, familiar places to which I
return often.
The nearby coastal coves, the inland heath and its roads and tracks
score and divide, whilst the creeks and rivers with their deep banks
bathe in expansive light.
These places re-visited appear changed and re-created. Working outside
gives me the needed stimuli to create.
The larger painting develops in the studio from this, rooted in
and through the exploration of the smaller pieces."
