Kerry Harding
Biography
| The most significant impact on my painting career to date was moving to cornwall from London 7 years ago. As history demonstrates this county has had a profound influence on artists for hundreds of years.
Using an already developed 'painterly' approach focussing on process and technique I was able to develop a vocabulary of surfaces and marks in response to Cornwalls atmospheric landscape. Since this move my work has developed forward independantly of this landscape influence and focuses on Tuning the texture of the paint as the mark itself and the mark as the subject. The most recent paintings have become more simplistic in their composition, remaining true to an established graphic division of panels and subsections. Within this framework I am able to experiment with and iluustrate more extreme variations of surfaces and marks.
