Career path
After studying at Falmouth College of Art, I began work on a monumental installation entitled ‘Middle World’ (1989-1995). Fragments of these formed the basis of solo shows at the Albemarle Gallery (1992), Duncan Campbell (1995) and Falmouth College of Art Gallery (1995).

In 1996 I was awarded a Delfina Studio Trust Award that provided me with a three-month residency in Andalusia, Spain. This inspired the next three years work in which I created ‘La Corrida Green and Red’ which was exhibited in 1997 at Duncan Campbell in London and in 1999 at Falmouth College of Art Gallery.

In 1999 I was commissioned by the Eden Project in Cornwall to create a major work entitled the ‘Rites of Dionysus’. This consists of a large-scale multi-figured permanent installation of copper beaten life-size Bacchanal figures. The work also includes elements of sound and light.

During the past four years, I have been involved in the creation of several bodies of work that have been solo shown by Goldfish Fine Art in London and Penzance. The nature of the work includes issues of world conflict and fertility. In 2007 I was awarded the Kenneth Armitage Fellowship, which provides a nominated artist to live and work in the former sculptor’s studio residence in London.

In the last twelve months, I have been involved with several group shows including the Royal Academy Summer show and the ‘Minotaur’ has been installed outside the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
