Biography
| My paintings are based on a response to landscape. The paintings are made in the studio but they rely on observations and information collected from particular locations. These observations are combined with memory and I select the significant elements I feel need to be included in the painting. I am aiming to chart the territory between the real and the imagined. The actual process of painting also plays a part in the outcome – these latest works are a balance between spontaneity and control. |
