Biography
| Bernard Evans lives and works in Newlyn. He works mainly in oils. His subject matter is mainly the landscape and life of West Cornwall and central London ,especially the areas bordering on the thames from Westminister to Canary Wharf.
He was born in liverpool in 1929 and was a student of Camberwell School of Art. many of his ideas on art theory derive from the teaching of Martin Bloch who taught at Camberwell in the early 50's. Bernard Evans taught and lectured for twenty years in Cheshire and Nottingham. He to Cornwall in 1976 with his wife Audrey to run the mounts Bay Art centre in Newlyn where he taught painting and drawing for 25 years in his lagre studio adjoining his house in Newlyn. He has exhibited widely throughout his life in both solo and group shows.He is an honorary member and past Chairman of Newlyn Society of Artists.
