I am fascinated by the different atmospheres that light creates in both our rural and urban environments. I use variation in light, form, texture and colour to magnify the moods and sensations of the places I experience. In July 2005 I moved temporarily to Copenhagen, Denmark, to work at the restricted access facilities at The National Workshops for Arts and Crafts, at the Gammel Dok Pakhus in Strandgade. www.arts-crafts.dk . Whilst visiting Denmark, I discovered Fyns Grafiske Værksted in Odense, and so for the last few years I have been dividing my time between printmaking workshops in Denmark and England: Fyns Grafiske Værksted in Odense; www.fynsgv.dk , and ‘Northern Print Studio’ in Newcastle; www.northernprint.org.uk . I have also recently set up my own studio in Fowlers Yard, in Durham.
