Biography
| Born 1970
Studied illustration and produced animal depictions which later found their way into naive art collections. Worked for many years at a hand-printed photographic studio. The late 1990’s I began figurative painting. Produced hundreds of small paintings under the working idea of ‘Ordinary Bodies’. These were never intended to be exhibited and many have not. The erratic impromptu figure referencing is now at www.ordinarybodies.co.uk. Early/ mid 2000’s decided to start exhibiting. Oil painting and mixed media work with human hair culminated in the painting ‘Dog Breeder’ exhibited 2007 in a temporary gallery space in Vyner Street London during frieze art fair week intended as an antidote to the current climate of impersonal emotionally flat dealer controlled art market. ‘Dog breeder’ now documented on www.connectgallery.co.uk Exhibitions Exhibited regularly Dick the Dog and Goldfish in Penzance. Group shows throughout the country and also in Dublin, New York and Milwaukee. Has exhibited with Jill George Gallery, London at Red Dot Miami and New York, in The Figure Show in 2008, 2009, Art Chicago 2009 and Art Toronto 2009. |
