Lineage posted 01 Dec 2007

The association of Newlyn Art Gallery and the NSA has provided a focus and continuity for a community of artists that have lived, worked and created ever-changing art in the area for well over a century.

The legacy that members of the NSA have inherited has always been about real artistic endeavour , enquiring minds
and a desire to push the boundaries of contemporary practice. To celebrate this lineage and further its traditions,
current members have been invited to choose an aspect of the original Newlyn School and respond in a way that
suits their particular practice. The result is an exhibition of innovative new works by 24 artists at Newlyn Art Gallery,
Penlee House Gallery and Museum and in the public realm.
